We transfer your image to tile using a digital print intermediary technique. We use a dye-sublimation process to reproduce your images onto glass, stone, or ceramic tile. The process uses ink heated to become a gas and with pressure bonds it onto the tile. This tile has a polymer coating applied to it that allows the gaseous ink to become chemically absorbed when both are under pressure. After cooling, the polymer coating hardens providing a protective layer over the sublimated ink image. Various tiles and coatings have specific characteristics making them suitable for various applications.
Our Fired tile option uses a digital technology to re-create images on ceramic tile. The technique allows the creation of 400 to 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) photo-quality images to be created using true ceramic pigments which are kiln fired into the ceramic glaze at 1500+ degrees Fahrenheit. This technology enables us to offer an imaged tile that will not scratch or fade since it is a true ceramic product.
